Manufacturing, Repair Capabilities

Metal Machining :

Cutting, turning, milling and drilling as required in the manufacture of mechanical seals, gland rings and sleeves. Materials include but not limited to Stainless Steel, Alloy 20 and Hastalloy ‘B’ and ‘C’.

Grinding :

Complete surface, internal and external grinding of hard materials as used for mechanical seals. Materials include Tungsten Carbide, Silicon Carbide, Chrome Oxide Coatings and Ceramics.

Carbon Machining :

Cutting, turning, milling and drilling as required to produce Carbon seal faces and bushings as required for mechanical seals.

Lapping and Polishing :

Lapping and Polishing of seal contact faces for all materials – Carbon, Tungsten Carbide, Silicon Carbide, Ceramic and Chrome Oxide Coatings all to within 3 light bands.

Surface Coatings :

Powder and Flame sprayed coatings (Chrome Oxide) for seal components. Metal preparation Sand blaster booth.

Welding :

Precision TIG welding of metal bellows as required for the manufacture of the Dura range of metal bellows seals.

Seal Repairs :

All essential equipment to undertake seal repairs which includes:

• Glass bead blaster booth
• Ultrasonic cleaning
• Heated wash tank
• Caustic solution wash tank
• Metal bellows pressure testing

Quality Assurance :

The Quality and Inspection procedures are conducted in accordance to the Durametallic Corporations Quality Assurance Manual. These procedures conform to the requirements specified in the ISO 9002 standards.

Inspection Aids :

Full equipped Calibration Room with all necessary measuring tools required for a precision production workshop.

Raw Materials :

A full range of raw materials is held in stock from which we can manufacture all the various ranges and sizes of Dura Seals in a
variety of materials which include:

• Rod, bar and tube : 316 SS, Alloy 20 and Hastalloy ‘C’.
• Castings : Tungsten Carbide, Silicon Carbide and Ceramic
• Billets : Resin impregnated Carbon

Technical Services :

In-house capabilities to perform the following functions:

• Design (CAD)
• Application Engineering (Evaluations and Recommendations)
• Seal Failure Analysis

Sales and Services :

The Sales and Service staff consists of experts in Sealing Applications for Rotating equipment. They are capable of trouble shooting any application and provide Complete Seal Failure Analysis. All of our Sales staff are graduate engineers with several years of experience.
